HEY THERE

I’m Kathy – a Career Development Practitioner and advocate of lifelong education who recognises the benefit of creating ‘hope’ in your life. ‘Hope’ is a key element of career satisfaction and thriving at work. Rather than prescribing solutions, I collaborate with clients to enhance their self-clarity and provide practical tools for authoring their own career stories. This ensures career decisions are deeply personal, sustainable, and aligned with what truly matters to each individual. While the activities we do together aren’t guaranteed to land you your dream job, they will help you to know yourself, understand where your interests lie and explore new possibilities. I use practical activities to help you move from passively wishing you could do something to actively pursuing it. I understand that success is defined by each person’s vision of a meaningful, fulfilling life.

Being aware of your values, your strengths and interests, can help you make a decision that is right for you.

I know the path isn't always clear from the start but every step, however uncertain, can lead you somewhere truly worthwhile.

Because your career story is still being written, the best chapters might be yet to come.

Success looks different for everyone—it's about creating a meaningful, fulfilling life that reflects your unique vision. If you're ready to move from uncertainty to clarity, from hoping to acting, I'm here to guide you through that transformation.

This personal journey taught me that career satisfaction isn't just about finding the right job—it's about creating hope and clarity in your life. Hope isn't wishful thinking; it's a powerful combination of knowing your goals, understanding your pathways, and having the motivation to pursue them.
Rather than offering cookie-cutter solutions, I work collaboratively with clients to:

My methods aren't magic—they won't guarantee your dream job lands in your lap tomorrow. But they will help you understand yourself better, clarify your interests, and turn passive hoping into active pursuing.

My Approach: Hope as the Foundation

So whether you're still at school or have left school and facing endless possibilities, or whether you're a professional craving change, or perhaps someone returning to work after a break - career uncertainty is universal. We all reach moments where we need greater clarity about who we are and where we're heading.
Having navigated multiple career transitions myself—I understand the challenges, doubts, and excitement that come with career change. I've been the uncertain student, the career changer, the person questioning if I was on the right path. This lived experience, combined with my professional expertise, allows me to meet you wherever you are in your journey and help you move forward with confidence.

Who I Support

At 17, I walked out of school with nothing more than a small piece of paper stating my leaving date and zero career direction. School had been about sport and friends —I had no one to talk to about career possibilities or what that meant. I felt that academic success wasn't for me.

But sometimes the most winding paths lead to the most meaningful destinations.
What followed was a journey across multiple industries and roles, each pivot teaching me something new about myself and the world of work. Along the way, I found my way back to formal education and now hold four university qualifications—but more importantly, I discovered that learning never stops—it's a lifelong pursuit. I also learned that it is more important to be curious and creative, to build and maintain relationships, and to use my commonsense.

My Why

Having 'hope' is a key element of career satisfaction & thriving at work

Niles, Yoon, Amundson, and Balin (2010, p. 102)

Living with hope is “envisioning a meaningful goal and believing that positive outcomes are likely to occur should specific actions be taken”.

Csikszentmihalyi and Csikszentmihalyi

When we are fully engaged in something, we are more likely to experience a sense of meaning and purpose in our lives.”
